Verizon Game Rewind | Big Third Quarter Sparks' Warriors' Win in San Antonio - Feb. 9, 2021

The Warriors and San Antonio Spurs’ second game of a back-to-back started as a tight contest with both squads tied at 50 at the half, but the Warriors erupted in the third quarter with a 25-8 run to create an advantage that kept the Spurs at bay as the Dubs went on to win 114-91.

Stephen Curry scored 16 of his 32 points on the night in that third quarter run, which spanned the first eight minutes of the frame. Also getting hot in that time was Kelly Oubre Jr. as he made his two three-point attempts out of the five taken of the night.

But no Dub was as efficient in the third quarter as Kent Bazemore. The veteran Dub who has consistently brought the energy off the bench throughout the season did so, again, on Tuesday.

As the Spurs gained some momentum to bring them within 15 of the Dubs, Bazemore produced his own eight-point run in the span of one minute. That outburst included two three-pointers, as well as a defensive stop that turned into a layup on the other end.

The Spurs came within 12 of the Dubs in the first minutes of the fourth, but that was the closest the Warriors would let their Western Conference foe come, as the squad earned a hard-to-come-by win in San Antonio. With the victory, the Warriors split their road trip through Texas at an even 2-2.
